The Field Guide
The summer season is the perfect time to hit the road for adventure! A road trip up to our sister property in Jackson, WY, is undoubtedly part of the adventure, but the real magic begins once you arrive. From stunning Teton views and wildlife encounters to authentic Western culture, Jackson is packed with unforgettable experiences for the whole family. Here’s our guide to bucket list activities when visiting Mountain Modern Jackson Hole.
What to do in Jackson Hole
Ride the Jackson Hole Aerial Tram
Located at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the iconic tram climbs 4,139 vertical feet in just 12 minutes. At the summit, visitors are rewarded with panoramic views of the Tetons, Jackson Hole Valley, and surrounding mountain ranges. The “Top of the World” also offers access to incredible hiking trails and climbing routes. Before heading back down, grab a famous waffle from Corbet’s Cabin.
Take a Boat Ride Across Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls
Operated by Jenny Lake Boating, the scenic shuttle ride across Jenny Lake saves visitors a two-mile hike each way to the Cascade Canyon Trailhead. From there, families can easily access:
- Hidden Falls — about .5 miles each way
- Inspiration Point — about 1 mile each way
- Cascade Canyon — ideal for longer adventures
Favorite Local Spots in Jackson
Moo’s Gourmet Ice Cream
A longtime local favorite, Moo’s Gourmet Ice Cream serves homemade gourmet ice cream and organic sorbets in the heart of Jackson. Don’t leave without trying the Wild Huckleberry Ice Cream, voted Wyoming’s best dessert by the Food Network.
