5 Things To Do This Fall In Sedona
When fall settles in Sedona, the heat of summer gives way to crisp mornings, golden foliage, and breathtaking sunsets. It’s the perfect time to breathe in the fresh desert air and soak up the magic of red rock country. To make the most of your time in Sedona, our Wise Guides have compiled a list of five must-do experiences for your fall getaway.
Get Outside
Fall in Sedona is made for outdoor adventures. With mild temperatures and clear skies, you can explore everything the region has to offer from dawn until dusk.
Our famous red dirt singletrack is at its best in the fall, with fewer crowds and tackier trails (thanks to autumn rains).
Cathedral Rock is one of our favorite hikes year round, but in the fall, the cooler temps make the challenging climb more comfortable. If you time it for the evening, the view of the sun dipping over the red rocks is incredible.
Cooler days create perfect golfing conditions with gorgeous views of the Red Rocks. Our favorite courses are Oak Creek Country Club, Canyon Mesa Country Club, Sedona Golf Resort, and Seven Canyons.
See the Fall Foliage in Oak Creek Canyon
For a true taste of autumn, take the scenic drive along Highway 89A to Oak Creek Canyon. This is one of the best places in the Sedona area to see the fall foliage in all its glory.
While you’re there, we recommend hiking West Fork Trail. This beautiful 6.4-mile path winds its way along a gentle stream as you walk beneath a canopy of Autumn leaves, creating the perfect fall hiking experience.
