The Chuckwagon Loop boasts stunning sights of the red rock formations. It’s a great introduction to mountain biking in Sedona, with a mix of rolling singletrack, a quick climb, and a few technical sections. We recommend riding it counterclockwise to save the most exciting part of the trail for last.
Bell Rock Pathway
Length: 3.5 miles
Skill: Beginner
The Bell Rock Pathway is a popular beginner-friendly trail that offers great views of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. Its wide, well-maintained path and gentle terrain make it ideal for beginner bikers. If you’re looking for an easy ride with beautiful views, this is your trail.
Hiline Trail
Length: 10.3 miles
Skill: Challenging
Hiline Trail features a steep, technical climb to the top of the mesa, followed by a thrilling descent. The trail hugs the edge of the cliff, offering stunning panoramic views— but also serious exposure. With narrow singletrack and high risk sections, this route demands skill and caution. A fall in certain areas can cause severe injury, so ride within your limits.
Slim Shady Trail
Length: 2.5 miles
Skill: Intermediate / Challenging
Slim Shady is a fun 2.5-mile trail that showcases stunning views of Sedona’s landscape. Ideal for intermediate riders, it features smooth red dirt singletrack with a few mild technical sections. The trail connects to several others in the area, making it a great starting point for longer loops and extended adventures.
Templeton Trail
Length: 3.4 miles
Skill: Intermediate / Challenging
Templeton Trail begins at Slim Shady Trail and offers a more technical challenge. Along the ride, you’ll cross Cathedral Rock Trail, with the most difficult section being the steep descent from Cathedral Rock. After the descent, the trail winds into a lush stretch along Oak Creek, perfect for a refreshing dip or a scenic lunch break. Some riders choose to continue on to the Baldwin Loop Trail from here.
